Puzzle & Action: Ichidant-R is the second game in the Puzzle & Action series. It focuses on two medieval guards solving puzzles to rescue a princess who has been kidnapped at the demand of Demon Lord.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay of the Puzzle & Action series always stays mostly consistent, 10 stages, with 4 and counting up by 4 rounds with 20 minigames in total The player must use the joystick and the button to do various things, and making mistakes will cost you a life. In each game, you repeat the instructions 3 or 5 times to progress. There are bonus games sprinkled in between stages as well, mainly about hitting balloons in order to get an extra life. There are also "lucky" tiles you can get when choosing games that gives you an extra life and picks out a random game for you.
The Mega-Drive port adds a top-down RPG-like mode, as well as a 4-player mode.
Reception[]
In august of 1994, Game Machine stated Ichidant-R was the 7th most successful arcade unit in japan[1]
